Questions about your translation

Requirements vary by document and submission office. These answers explain the service and what to check.

What is a Spanish sworn translation?

A sworn translation — traducción jurada — is a translation certified, stamped and signed by a translator officially appointed by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC). It carries legal validity in front of Spanish authorities, which an ordinary certified translation does not.

Who performs the translation?

Translations are completed by translators officially appointed by the Spanish MAEC for your language pair. We verify each translator against the Ministry’s public register, including their active status, before assigning any work.

Is the translation digitally signed?

Yes. Since Orden AUC/213/2025 came into force in March 2025, a sworn translation signed with a qualified electronic certificate is valid in PDF form. You receive that signed PDF, and you can add a stamped paper original if you want one.

Do I need to mail my documents?

No. A scan or a clear photo is enough. Sworn translators work from a copy of the document, and the certification refers to the copy they were given. If you need paper, we can post a stamped original as an extra.

Do Apostilles need translation?

Usually not on their own. An apostille is issued on the standard multilingual Hague form and travels attached to the document it legalises — so what gets translated is the document underneath. Upload both and we will tell you exactly how yours is handled.

How fast can you deliver?

Standard delivery is 48 hours for most documents, and 72 hours when a document has a complex layout such as a transcript or a tax return. Priority delivery is 24 hours.

Can I order from the US or UK?

Yes. Most of our work is for applicants in the United States and the United Kingdom. Everything is handled online, prices are shown in euros with Spanish VAT included, and no part of the process requires you to be in Spain.
