Per page or per document: compare like with like
Some agencies charge per page and define a page by word count, others charge a fixed price per document. A one-page birth certificate costs the same either way; a three-page company registry extract does not. Many per-page agencies also set a minimum per document or per order.
Check what the quoted figure covers: whether the apostille page counts as a page, whether a digitally signed PDF is included, and whether VAT is added at checkout.
What changes the price
- Length: extra pages, or a long document priced by word count.
- Speed: urgent and same-day delivery typically add 25% to 50%, or move you to a higher per-page tier.
- Paper: a stamped paper original sent by courier costs extra; a digitally signed PDF does not need posting.
- Language: English, French and German have the most sworn translators. Rarer pairs, including Portuguese, cost more because fewer translators are appointed.
- VAT: Spanish VAT is 21%. Some agencies include it, some add it at checkout, and some do not charge it to non-EU residents.

How to avoid paying twice
- Check whether your consulate needs a sworn translation at all, or also accepts a local certified one.
- Get the apostille before the translation, not after.
- Make sure the translator is on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs register for your language pair.
- Leave out documents that need no translation, such as bank statements at consulates that waive it.
Questions
Juranza is a translation service, not a law firm, and nothing here is legal advice. Requirements published by Spanish consulates and immigration offices change without notice — always check your own consulate before submitting.

Is a digital sworn translation cheaper than paper?
The digitally signed PDF is part of the translation, so it costs nothing extra; a stamped paper original adds courier costs. At Juranza a paper copy is +€25.
Why does urgent delivery cost more?
The translator has to fit your document in ahead of work already scheduled. Agencies typically add 25% to 50%. Juranza’s priority delivery is a flat +€29 per order.
